Montissori House Graduation!

On Monday, May 18th Angie's school had a graduation for all those leaving 6th grade and those leaving Kindergarten.
Here is Angie getting her certificate of achievement from her teachers.

Angie in her cap and gown (isn't she so cute! She looks so little!!)

This is Angie with her cousin Annie who was also graduating (though not from kindergarten)

So, now it's on to first grade! I can hardly believe it. Next year should be an adventure for all of us!

ASU Graduation!

On Friday, May 15th 2009 Caleb graduated from ASU with a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering and Angie, myself and Caleb's Mom all went to celebrate!

The graduates were escorted in by a bagpipe band (which was really cool!)

Then the procession started.
Caleb was among the first to enter out of around 900 engineering grads.

Ira A. Fulton the benefactor of the ASU Engineering program spoke, among others and then came the moment we were all waiting for - the handing out of the diplomas!
Here is Caleb waiting his turn.

Here is Caleb and Angie outside Wells Fargo Arena where the ceremony was held.

And after sitting for two hours here we are all together!

I am so proud of all of Caleb's hard work these last few years and can't believe that we are finally done with school for now! I don't think it will really sink in until fall when everyone goes back to school except him. I want to thank everyone for your support these last few years, I don't think we could have made it without all the free food and other generouse gifts. Hopefully we will be able to pay back some of the kindness over time. For now we are on the hunt for a job, so if anyone hears of anything...

Oreo Day

Angelique was very excited last night and when asked why she said "Tomorrow is Oreo day!"
Me - "Oreo day? what are you talking about?!"
Angie - "We have no school tomorrow because it's Oreo day!"
Me - thinking...thinking...thinking... then I suddenly realized what she was talking about. "You mean MEMORIAL day!"
Angie - "Oh yea, that's it!"

So happy Oreo day everyone!

Interesting Birth Info

I thought this was an interesting article and thought I would share it. If you are planning on having children I strongly suggest you take a moment to read this. I think it is so important that we stay informed, especially when it comes to our health. There are so many things we consider necessary simply because the doctor tells us it is. We need to think about and research some of these things for ourselves and not just assume it is okay simply because it is what most people do. I hope this is helpful to someone or at least makes you question a little bit before you just do what the doctor tells you to do.

One of the movies I really like about birth is "The business of being born" It is really well done and very informative. You can get it from http://www.thebusinessofbeingborn.com/ or on Netflix or you can borrow my copy if you want. It is really insightful.

Can you tell I'm getting ready? The countdown begins!!
